Madison Hose Co. #1 firefighters participated in the Madison Chamber of Commerce’s First Annual Souper Bowl on Jan. 30. The event was well attended and featured some fierce competition.
In the end, Madison Hose Co. No. #1’s chili, made in a team effort led by firefighter and firehouse chef Mike Selmani, took top honors for chili (the North Madison Volunteer Fire Company took second) and Donahue’s Madison Beach Grille won first place for soup (with Culinary Concerts coming in second.)
We had a great time participating in this event alongside the many restaurants and establishments who came out to support it and make it a great success. We can’t wait to participate again next year…but, in the meantime, we’ll be brainstorming our next recipe!
